There is possibly nothing more stressful then arriving to an airport from a business meeting feeling absolutely exhausted from a 4am start, crumpled and generally below par.
Add in a long haul flight and jet lag into the mix and the results are throughly unforgiving.
This is really where essential oils come into their own. When it comes to a quick boost of energy and all around travel pick me ups we look at some of essential oils no traveller should be without:
Lemongrass helps maintain a healthy balance of hormone levels within the body. Proper hormone levels can help get rid of the cloudy brain fog and also eliminate the fatigue that plagues so many with jet lag.
Lavender The most popular option for people who have trouble sleeping, and for those with jet lag. Helps relax the mind and body and promotes a more restful, effective sleep.
Peppermint One of the best options for when you need to give the body a burst of energy. It can help perk-up the mind, increase alertness, and cut through that brain fog that can be so problematic when experiencing jet lag.
Water: Drink water, water and more water. Never forget just how dehydrating planes and in some cases a change of climate can be.
Probiotics. An absolute must if travelling for an extended period of time in order to keep digestion regular.
Burn your oils in a diffuser, add to a candle, or just smell them. If you want to apply them to the skin, for example as a fragrance or massage add them a few drops to a carrier oil such jojoba oil, coconut oil, grapeseed oil, avocado oil, almond oil or shea-butter oil. Be sure and test for skin irritation by putting a drop of essential oils at the back of your palm to see if they cause a reaction.
